Dreamweaver 8 won't upload using TLS/SSL
Hi, I've just purchased new hosting with KDA which requires TLS/SSL. Ticking the checkbox in remote site configuration to use secure ftp still won't let me upload. Browsing the web I find posts which apparently indicate that Dreamwever doesn't support TLS/SSL. Strangely I can connect to the site using WSFTP lite although I don't won't to upload this way as I lose valuable Dreamweaver features. Can someone with Dreamwever help me out with this please? I don't want to buy a new web editor and ditch Dreamweaver!

Re: Dreamweaver 8 won't upload using TLS/SSL
try not ticking secure FTP and see if that works - as you can access via non TLS/SSL as quite rightly not many FTP functions have that option

Re: Dreamweaver 8 won't upload using TLS/SSL
Many thanks Sarah, I've tried that without sucess. Worryingly I have found an undated document on Adobe's website that says:
•Secure Socket Layer (SSL) The SSL protocol was developed by Netscape to allow the secure transfer of files. If your connection to the remote server requires that you use this protocol, you will not be able to use Dreamweaver's FTP client. You can still use Dreamweaver to create local sites, but will have to transfer those sites to the remote server using a separate client. Two examples of third-party clients using the SSL protocol are: •Windows: WS_FTP 7.0 •Macintosh: Glub Tech - Secure FTP This indicates to me that Dreamweaver will not be coming up with a fix for this even though I can see lots of postings on the web from people in a similar situation to me. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/161/tn_16159.html

Re: Dreamweaver 8 won't upload using TLS/SSL
I can't believe it either - Dreamweaver is one of the most expensive editors available. Since Adobe have virtually no mention of this problem on their website I wonder if they are planning to drop Dreamweaver - I know that during the last few years many other less expensive and apparently very good web editors have come onto the market - which doesn't help those of us who have invested heavily in Dreamweaver.
It would be great if KDA could come up with a work-around for this to enable FTP upload direct from Dreamwever.
